End Credits Research

The above video has a credit sequence in which is simple but yet effective because they manage to get all of the text on the screen effectively but cutting from once sequence of writing to the other, this is a possibility for our film.

The above end credits are from a bond film and they are what we want our credits to look like because we have an end shots of a cake burning out and we want our film credits to have that scene in the background but with the writing rolling on top of them which is what happens in these credits.

Poster Research

Atonement is another film which has a similar plot to ours because in this film because the lady in the film (Ceilia) lies about the fact that the male character (Robbie) was still alive and she lied in the book so that they could finally be together. The expression of the faces of the characters on the poster are expressions of sadness and the reader doesn't recognise this until they have watched the film and know that it has a sad ending.

The sixth sense has a similar plot to our film and the poster has similar colours to our as well. Black is the main colour of the post which connotes the same feeling that we want ours to, the bright colours around the little boy are very much alike to the colours of the candle flames on our cake. The font style looks like chalk handwriting on a blackboard and it gives off the impression of horror.

This poster is similar to what we want out out come to be, the blackness surrounding the women is the effect that we want in our poster. The tag line gives the impression that the film has a twist which is what we want out poster to give. There is minimal text on this poster and towards the centre of the poster there is a cake which shows that the semiotics of a birthday party. However in this poster the main focus is on the women rather than the cake which is what we want the focus of our poster to be on.

Poster Photos

We decided to use this still from our film because it links in with the title and it has a good mise-en-scene, the colours in the shots without taken without the flash on gives a connotation of mystery from the blackness surrounding the actors and props. The table is laid out like a traditional child's birthday but the fact that there is no child in the shot shows that there is a birthday party with a twist. The cake is placed in the centre of the table because it is the main focus of the show because the first thing that springs to someones mind when they think of a birthday is a birthday cake. This shot chosen is from the latter part of our film and it shows great emotion from our actors and when the main plot of the film is revealed. We will select one of the photos and use Photoshop to add text to the original and edit the pictures slightly is necessary.

Still Shots Of Filming Day

Below is a selection of shots that we took on the day that we shot our film. They pictures show how some scenes were set up, our group and it also shows the equipment we used to film. The photos also helped us to keep continuity of the actors costumes, props and location of our shots incase we have to redo any of our scenes.

Ghost Story

GhostA.jpg

Ghost a story of a woman who loses her loved one and is visited by him as a ghost. We thought this is an appropriate film to relate to ours as it has the same plot line, of someone close to you who has died but is still there living beside you, were as in our film its the mother is the one who thinks she call still see him and goes on with life normally, in Ghost its the other way round but there are a variety of similarity's we can relate to our film. The endings both end with the lost person leaving, or going away as they realise there not real, there ghosts living in the memory of there loved ones.
